It has been always fascinating for an architect, in every new project, to be able to discover the equilibrium between architecture and nature. As we know, even from the beginning of human existence, nature never stopped being one of the major influences of human lives. In fact, human’s first shelter was a garden, before anything else.

Located at a remotely isolated area on the hills of Halkidiki, Gazebo house is a vacation shelter for a family of four. The land is amongst high and dense vegetation, whilst sharing some stunning views from above towards the west coastal line of the Kassandra Peninsula.

The design is mainly characterized by a unified slender roof, where the spaces are openly formed by big glazed screens towards the views, and by opaque massive masonry walls towards the forest, respectively. Movable dividing objects provide vague boundaries between the internal spaces and the outdoor ones, thus enhancing the intimate connection between human and nature.

Sharp, strict lines, combined with minimalistic textures, mirroring effect by the water and lighting, all together aim to provide the sense of tranquility to the owners; rendering the place as their best way to escape from city’s life.
